An integration needs enough access to read and write the records it touches. Here is exactly what that means and what it doesn't.
We scope credentials to the systems and endpoints the integration actually uses, not broader access than the work requires.
We request the minimum access the integration needs. Not broad admin credentials, scoped to the endpoints the integration actually touches.
We test against a sandbox before touching production data. Where a sandbox doesn't exist, we run a dry run first and confirm the output before writing anything live.
Every write is logged. So if something needs to be traced or rolled back, there is a record of exactly what changed and when.
You can revoke access at any time. Credentials are yours. If the engagement ends, they're yours to change or remove.
