The client, a family business specializing in manufacturing Ceramic and Vitrified tiles in India. They are among the top 5 players in the ceramic industry in India.
Established in 1994, the journey began with the establishment of a wall tile plant producing two sizes – 100 x 200 mm & 150 x 200 mm with 850 sq. meter. per day production capacity and today they are one amount the top 5 players in India with put together turnover of 120 million dollars.
CHALLENGES AND PAIN AREA
They faced two major problems from their legacy system; firstly, they were not integrated, every system was working in silos, say for Stock of finish goods there was software but the order taking and fulfilling was happening on another software, and sales bills and accounting was done on a third system. Apart from this, the raw material management was totally manual on books and excel, production planning was again manual and there are lots of incidents where due to wrong inputs for production planning, production went wrong and results in a loss.
The warehouse was totally messed up, most of the items were kept based on manual understanding and many times on dispatch day warehouse manager couldn’t locate the goods produce recently to fulfil this order only and resulting in a delay in dispatch or no dispatch.
The introduction of ERP systems within the client has led to efficient business processes, enhanced customer service, reduced costs, improved productivity, accelerated transaction time, workflow management, and a reduction in the number of credit management errors. It can now update its customers daily and provide seamless services across the country which was mostly not the case before. The availability of online information has facilitated quicker and more reliable trend analysis for efficient decision-making.
Overall, they were able to reduce the Order to Dispatch to 10 to 12 days from 22 to 25 days before, this itself leads to a major sales rise and helped in new customer acquisition.
